About
FF Projects is a nomadic curatorial concept established by Faridah Folawiyo.

FF Projects is a nomadic curatorial platform established by Faridah Folawiyo. Through exhibitions, programming, and publishing, we prioritise and encourage the global exchange and appreciation of art from Africa and its diaspora.

Central to our mission is the cultivation of meaningful relationships between Black artists and Black collectors, fostering ecosystems of support that allow emerging practices to flourish. We are committed to creating spaces that feel welcoming, environments in which artists and audiences alike are encouraged to be curious, adventurous, and experimental, and where the exchange of Black art feels both accessible and grounded in sustained relationships.

Faridah Folawiyo is an independent curator and researcher who focuses on contemporary art from the Black world. She received her undergraduate degree in Near Eastern Studies from Princeton University and holds a Master's in History of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art.

Outside of FF Projects, her recent curatorial work includes María Magdalena Campos-Pons: I Am Soil. My Tears Are Water at Efie Gallery (April 2025); and Elastic Visions at Efie Gallery for the occasion of Dubai Art Week (March 2024).

Faridah's postgraduate dissertation, 'Diaspora, Identity and Representation in Non-Figurative African Photography', was a significant contribution to the field. Published in Ufahamu: A Journal of African Studies, a peer-reviewed journal at UCLA, it garnered international attention. Her writings in Mousse Magazine, Nka Journal, TSA Art Magazine, and Service95 have further solidified her global influence. She has also been featured in renowned publications such as Vogue, NPR, Wallpaper Magazine, Native, Sotheby’s, and HURS.
